Our Mission

Doctors Against Overdoses is a coalition of physicians and advocates committed to confronting San Francisco’s overdose crisis with science, compassion, action, and advocacy. We champion an integrated approach that blends harm reduction with real pathways to abstinence-based recovery—recognizing that addiction is a medical condition, not a moral failing. We believe supportive housing must be just that—supportive—and should not rely solely on “housing first” models that neglect treatment and accountability. Homelessness, addiction, and mental illness are deeply interconnected, and lasting change requires coordination across healthcare, housing, and public safety systems. Through evidence-based policy reform, direct engagement, and bold physician leadership, we aim to build a San Francisco where no one is left to die on the streets—and where every life has a path forward.
